for local artists
Rogers Park is a vibrant community and one of Chicago’s most diverse neighborhoods. Chicagoan's from virtually every ethnic, religious & socioeconomic background as well as numerous immigrant communities are proud to call Rogers Park their home. Among the diversity, Rogers Park is full of accomplished artists who travel to other parts of the city to gain visibility and/or working space. We believe the artists in Rogers Park should have the thriving arts scene that brings visibility & business to them and their community.
to local students
We believe visual arts are essential to building strong communities, and that art can present opportunities to address a community’s challenges in trying times. Art can stand at the intersection of our lives, to give youth an alternative to violence and street-gangs, and create a greater sense of value and understanding for everyone. Conceptual thinking is at the core of each lesson developed for our youth.
with and in our community
Mission Arts believes that creating a dialogue within our community between it's youth & artists is essential to it's development.
We plan to achieve a meaningful dialogue by providing the community with:
• community-driven arts and performance
• a chance to hear it’s youth and artists
• art programming & opportunity for youth & artists
• beautification, awareness & cultural enrichment.
